How to backup Gmail

Have you ever thought you need a backup for your Gmail to make sure that you won't lose your data if someday you cannot access your account? Firstly, you need to sign in you Gmail address that contain the emails you need to backup.

Next, visit https://www.google.com/settings/takeout. This is the site that help you backup Google users' data.

Select the option you want to download (Mail or Calendar or all data) then click Create Archive. If you just want to backup you email, you only need to check email option. Google will scan and add all your data, included emails in Spam and Trash, into a .zip file.

Notes: To open .zip file, you can easily open it with your operating system or some software such as 7zip, Winzip, Winrar... 

After this progress, Google will give you a download link. Depend on the data in your Gmail, the progress can be long or short. You don't need to stay on Gmail or keep your computer running, this progress is independent of your computer. And Google will send you an email with download link later, when everything has done.
